Well, I suppose it’s possible that they might be doing that, but one would hope that the little miscreants wouldn’t learn about such things until they do a pub crawl in Dublin… 😉

I think they are discerning whether or not the paint has been adequately layered onto the wall – or they are preparing to play “hide-and-seek” but forgot that only one counts whilst the others hide!

I’ll go with the “hide-and-seek” version, in that the rules were not properly explained beforehand (just like life) and no one really knew what to do when it came time for them to do something important (again, just like life). But at least the biggest urchin wisely chose to wear a flower in her hair, so she at least looks pretty in the midst of her confusion…
