I’ve often wondered what goes on a sorority initiations too. Not enough to join one, of course. I’m content with a little mystery in my life.

I think the first word that comes to mind is “ritual”. There are a lot of rituals, things that they always do because they’ve always done them, regardless of value or benefit. That alone right there kept me Independent during my college years… 😉

The director did manage some right next door to androgyny, though. And having attended the University of Oklahoma, I recognize the worn-smooth rocky outcropping of Husband Hunting Point and the shaggy, forlorn looking girls with small breasts.

I never visited as my qualifications diminished with the number of haircuts I was (not) getting with my middle digit raised high against the misogyny of such a system but I have it on good authority that neither of us missed anything.
