Communique from Cómpeta – #5

Fair Disclosure: This post involves words that are not, for the most part, my own. I’ve wanted to share these lyrics for quite some time, but I could never quite settle on the proper packaging. We all have favorite songs with great meaning, sometimes personal, sometimes universal, but the imagery doesn’t always translate. I finally snapped a pic that feels right, so here we go…

The nature of your tragedy

Is chained around your neck

Do you lead, or are you led

Are you sure that you don’t care

There are reasons here, to give your life

And follow in your way

The passion lives to keep your faith

Though all are different, all are great

Climbing as we fall

We dare to hold on to our fate

And steal away our destiny

To catch ourselves

With quiet grace

Greetings from Cómpeta, Spain. More to follow. As for the actual artist and song for this bit, let’s just say that you might find it in excess of the stairs. If not, you might also find the answer in the tags for this post. In any case, here’s to the songs we sing, whatever they might be, and welcome to wherever you are…
