For the Vanderbilts, this was merely the servants’ quarters…
Note: This is part of an on-going experiment at Bonnywood. Details found here.
P.S. And yes, I realize that some of these ancient, never-updated Past Imperfects are less than stellar when it comes to imagination and wit. This is precisely why I need your help with suggested triggers for ways to enhance the initially-lackluster inspiration. Many thanks to those of you who have been jumping in with story ideas during this experiment…

Quite the step up in regards to Staff Accomodation.Talk about giving the servants stairs and graces.

Turns out, this was actually a psychological experiment in herd mentality that went terribly wrong, with the scientists bludgeoned to death with a leftover roll of French bread…

Oh look the servants have a cafe… which begs the question… who serves the servants?

Good question. Maybe it was just a lurid trick? The servants happily clatter through the door, find a seat at a a cute table, and then they open the menu, which is completely blank except for a note on the back: “Now get back to work and quit playing around.”

If the Vanderbilts needed that much room for servants, they might possibly be in a position to balance our current national debt and put out a hit on the Orange Menace as was. The servants, mystified and angry at having to clean their own humongous quarters and not even get overtime for doing so, banded together and formed the first Union of Trodden Upon, Easily Dismissed Persons. Contact your union rep for details. He’s cleverly disguised as a fire plug, which photo bombed this otherwise benign appearing photo.

Thank you for explaining the intrusive hydrant. I failed, creatively, with my response to Geoff (above) and your version is much more pleasing and plausible… 😉

Is that Laurel and Hardy strolling through?

Indeed, it is. They were both dating a delightful serving wench named Delilah at the time…
